General Manager

He will report directly to the Board of Directors, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of CSRDP. This is with regards to technical and administrative activities with the staff at his disposal. This includes running day-to-day activities and special events. He/she will be responsible for implementing the objectives and mission of the club, ensuring the advancement and development of soccer in the cities concerned and respect for the values of CSRDP

 

Requirements

  1. At least two years' experience in a general management position involving management of a team of permanent, contract and/or volunteer employees.

  2. College diploma or experience in administrative management

  3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)

  4. Knowledge of Spordles and Teamsnap an asset

  5. Good oral and written communication skills in French and English

  6. Strong interest in member services

  7. Ability to analyze, synthesize and make decisions

  8. Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities under tight deadlines

  9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  10. Teamwork attitude, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, dynamism and leadership.

  11. Training on respect in the workplace and on respect and sport - activity leader is an asset

  12. Knowledge of Quebec soccer is a major asset

 

Job description:

  1. Contribute to the appropriate classification of CSRDP within Soccer Canada, Soccer Québec and Regional.

  2. Set up all administrative, sports and technical organizational structures in accordance with Soccer Canada requirements and ensure the smooth running of activities in these areas.

  3. Develop and maintain organizational support approved by the Board of Directors.

  4. Participate in the hiring of technical and administrative directors.

  5. Supervise the work of the Technical Director, Manager(s) and the Administrative Operations Manager.

  6. Participate in the hiring of CSRDP directors and, in conjunction with them, level managers, coaches and all employees responsible for assisting them in the performance of their duties.

  7. Ensure compliance with the operating budget adopted by the Board of Directors.

  8. Improve the efficiency and quality of customer services.

  9. Develop, maintain and manage an effective communication and management system within CSRDP

  10. Oversee updating and maintenance of the CSRDP website and other social media.

  11. Participate in various committees set up by the Board of Directors.

  12. Ensure sound communication by all CSRDP employees with parents, other employees, players, other clubs.

  13. To enter discussions with educational institutions to establish a program for the development and improvement of players' skills.

  14. Carry out the roles set out in the Code of Conduct and Ethics and the Policies and Rules of CSRDP to ensure that they are applied and respected.

  15. Manage special projects and other tasks assigned by the Board of Directors.

  16. Ensure compliance with the current strategic plan as adopted.

  17. Manage all files related to grant-seeking and in collaboration with the Chair of the Fundraising Committee.Ensure participation in fundraising activities. Engage in sponsorship partnerships with local or non-local businesses.

 

Under the supervision of the Board of Directors (BOD), the DG will :

  1. Follow up on various files with the ARS, Soccer Québec, Soccer Canada, stakeholders and representatives of the cities involved, and generally represent CSRDP at meetings; 

  2. Monitor budgets and expenses incurred for each sector; 

  3. Prepare a monthly general and financial report and present it at each Board meeting; 

  4. Plan and organize an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of members and special general meetings as required.

 

The General Manager, in collaboration with the Technical and Administrative Directors and their teams, is responsible for

  1. Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities at CSRDP.

  2. Draw up the general and financial balance sheet for activities held at the end of the summer year.

  3. Plan, organize and coordinate meetings of various working committees and ensure their smooth operation.

  4. Maintain up-to-date equipment inventory and plan necessary purchases.

  5. Plan, participate and assist with the organization of major events (tournaments, end-of-season gala, soccer school parties, etc.) or other soccer-related sports activities.

  6. Responsible for organizing office and storage space.

  7. Supervise and support the TD(s) in advancing the various technical programs of CSRDP and generally work in harmony and collaboration with the TD(s).

  8. Plan and ensure ongoing training of CSRDP employees.

  9. Plan reservations and schedules for the use of fields and sports facilities, as well as assignments.

Working conditions: 

  • The workplace is located at the club's office at 11575 26th Avenue, Montreal, but is not limited to this location;

  • Telecommuting is possible.

  • An initial three-year term is offered, renewable.

  • The work schedule is a minimum of 35 hours per week, on a flexible basis.

  • The candidate is expected to work evenings and weekends throughout the province.

  • The starting date is as soon as possible.

 

Remuneration conditions are competitive and will take into account the experience and skills of the successful candidate.
